A Brief Overview of Microforms Room Policies

The York College Library subscribes to a number of journals and newspapers that are available in their microforms room. In the Microforms Room, a Library staff member can help you set up the machine, teach you how to use it, and help you locate the article you need. There is no charge to read microforms.  Currently, the Library has one microfilm reader and one digital copier that prints to a laser printer. The copies made from microfilm are clearer than those made in the past from microfilm.

Microfilm is connected to a workstation computer where you can capture images from microfilm and microfiche. This workstation has the capability to read microfilm and microfiche. Scan onto USB flash drive or share Network drive and Save as a PDF. From there you can send it via E-mail. Use Cardinal print to release print jobs.

Ask a Library staff member for assistance if you need to make copies.
