Three or More Authors

If three to five authors, list all authors the first time. 

Example:
(Peterson, Zhang, & Robins, 2019)
Peterson, Zhang, and Robins (2019)

Notes: Spell “and” if the names are outside of parenthesis. 
 

In the subsequent text, then use the first author followed by “et al.” 

Example: 
(Peterson, et al., 2019)
Peterson et al. (2019)

If six or more authors, use the first author followed by “et al.” 

Example:
If the cited work done by Jona Kräenbring, Tika Monzon Penza, Susanne Muehlich, Oliver Zolk, Leszek Wojnowski, Renke Maas, Stefan Engelhardt, and Antonio Sarikas, the in-text citation is

(Kräenbring et al., 2014)
Kräenbring et al. (2014)

 

If three or more authors, use only the first author name and “et al.” 

Example:
(Peterson, et al., 2019)
Peterson et al. (2019)

(Kräenbring et al., 2014)

Direct Quotation from Audiovisual Material

Not specified in the manual 

If quotations directly come from audiovisual materials, include a time stamp and specify the beginning of the quoted material. A timestamp range is optional. 

Example:
