  • Top US foundations by asset size.

Sam.gov

  • Search and browse the official U.S. government website for people who make, receive, and manage federal awards.

Arts & Humanities

American Council of Learned Societies

  • Private institution supporting scholars in the humanities and related social sciences at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels. 

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Grants Database

  • Search and browse current Mellon opportunities, and explore past Mellon grants using filters for program area, amount, date, and keywords.

Council on Library and Information Resources Mellon Fellowships

  • Competitively awarded fellowships for dissertation research in the humanities or related social sciences using original sources.

Digital Humanities Advancement Grants

  • Supports digital projects throughout their lifecycles, from early start-up phases through implementation and long-term sustainability. 

Institutes for Advances Topics in the Digital Humanities

  • Supports national or regional training programs for scholars, humanities professionals, and advanced graduate students to broaden and extend their knowledge of digital humanities. 

NEH Grants

Research Funding Public Access Requirements

Many major US research funders have public access requirements for any publications and data stemming from grant funds.

  • Search SHERPA/Juliet for Funders’ Public Access/Open Access Policies.

Many journals also have policies requiring open access to research data for the purposes of replication and further research. Open Access Directory lists many journal open data policies.
