OER (Open Educational Resources): SUNY / CUNY OER

CUNY Academic Commons is designed to support faculty initiatives and build community through the use(s) of technology in teaching and learning. It is a Wordpress installation, which is free, open source software. Faculty at CUNY can create an account on the Academic Commons in order to create a website. Anything on the Academic Commons is automatically given a CC-BY license, unless designated otherwise. The Academic Commons has a WYSWIG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, but does require some technical knowledge to get started. It does not have seamless Blackboard integration, though faculty can post links to their website within Blackboard.

OpenEd CUNY is a free and open site/course creator platform that is on the OER Commons portal.

OER series collects instructional materials -- from textbooks to syllabi -- created by the CUNY community. To find works from a specific college or school, browse by Colleges, Schools, Centers.

This CUNY installation serves as a free publishing platform for the CUNY community, where you can create projects to house either your own scholarship or custom classroom versions of texts and textbooks that are openly licensed or in the public domain. Group annotation of texts is a key feature.
