Purdue University's OWL (Online Writing Lab) is a fantastic resource for information about citation styles considered to be the golden standard in the field .

RefWorks interfaces with Microsoft Word and allows you to store citations in your own personal databases then insert those references into your papers. When you've finished typing your paper, you can tell RefWorks to format it in a standard bibliographic format. NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT AND DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION TO YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER TO USE REFWORKS.

In order to locate the item that is cited, you have to understand if it's a journal article or a book chapter.

CLICS lets you request books from other CUNY libraries right through the library catalog, Books and More.

Through interlibrary loan loan, you can request articles not available at York and books not available through CUNY.
